Adco Marketing Promotional Items and Products

Promotional tote bags vary so much these days in quality!  You might be thinking "what a deal" - a tote bag for only a dollar!  Here is the good news - those dollar tote bags are actually super strong, made of what we call "non woven poly" material.  Often they can hold up to 30 lbs.  (so yes you can carry these to your next bowling party...)  However, often when purchasing a tote bag, the customer may be thinking of canvas bags, and assuming these are going to have that texture and feel of canvas.  In actuality, a canvas tote bag is more along the lines of $3 each.  This is because cotton went up throughout the world in the past year.  An interesting alternative to both of these items is a new bag called "laminated non woven bags ".  You might have seen these custom grocery totes in Trader Joes' for example.  The Trader Joe's  tote bag has a glossy feel to it - and can have wonderful full color images.  If you are looking for custom tote bags or bulk tote bags and aren't sure what style you need, call Adco Marketing at 888-332-ADCO for advice!

Pictured below are a couple of other "non woven" style tote bags - one is our Big Thunder insulated tote - keeps goods cold for hours - great for grocery delivery or catering services.

Whew the rain has come!  When looking at custom umbrellas there are three questions we recommend knowing the answers to:

1.  Is it for a single person, or are you wanting to be able to "share" - if share, you want an arc bigger than the 48" standard, probably the 56" minimum for that.

2.  How often will your logo get seen?  If you don't live in Seattle, odds are that umbrella is closed much of the year.  If so, we recommend printing the sleeve and/or the tie.

3.  Is your custom umbrella needed for a golf tournament, or as a customer gift?  How important is presentation and how much room do you have for assembly?  Umbrellas come with lots of packaging - plastic, cardboard strips, etc - so you'll need a bin near by for assembly, or better yet get them all unpacked and cleaned up before your handout event.

Please consider Adco Marketing for your custom umbrellas  - we love to give advice on anything from school color umbrellas to what is the least expensive umbrella that won't bust in the wind!  Email sales@adcomarketing.com with any promotional umbrella questions.  The Thank You umbrella is our most unique - check it out!

Tradeshows can be very expensive with booth rental, promotional gifts, brochures, display stands and more running into the thousands of  dollars.  To maximize your tradeshow benefits, I suggest the following:

  • Purpose and Mission.  Narrow down a mission statement for each show.  What is your purpose?  Is it to get more "potential" leads to ultimately purchase your product?  What data are you needing on each lead - just email and phone, or something more detailed like job title, address, etc?  Another purpose might be to get more folks to sign up for your website or "like" your page on facebook?  Are you needing attendees to interact with a demo of your product or watch a quick video?  Your purpose for each show may change.  Think carefully about your ability to followup afterwords.  Would you prefer to have fewer leads, but more targeted, or is a thousand names ok for you?
  • Show preparation.  Picture your table or booth, what is the first thing you will want clients to see about your services?  Full color banners are an inexpensive way to quickly hang above the booth (don't forget to bring your S hooks to attach or some bungee cords too) Think carefully about transportation.  Many shows charge a fortune for the organizers and unions to carry in your product to your booth.  Shipping to your hotel instead for lightweight materials (brochures, custom mint handouts, etc) might be a better option.  Consider your booth itself.  Are you needing perhaps a table top display which could easily fold away after the show, or are you going for a floor to ceiling type of approach?  What "visual" are you wanting the attendees to get "no matter what" - the website?  The logo?  The tagline?
  • Booth materials and handouts.   Full color brochures can be a great option when you have a lot of information you would like attendees to get.  However if your product has a long sales cycle (i.e. real estate, giant computer systems, etc.), a brochure is probably not going to stay with them long enough to finally think of you to buy product.  That's where promotional products come into play.  Ideally you'd like a marketing giveaway that will last a long time, get a lot of logo "views", and be in a focal point in the home or office depending on the service you offer.  Something like a custom sticky note or sticky cube can be great for getting desktop space.  However, in terms of the "wow" factor, attendees may not be running to your booth saying "wow, a free sticky note pad!  come see!"  So we tell our clients to get something flashy as well.  Perhaps actual flashing buttons (clip these to the curtains too for a great effect), or if budget allows, a higher end item such as a colorful aluminum water bottle, custom travel mug, etc.  Your handout should be simple in terms of imprint - logo and website, with tagline if there is room.  Not well known yet?  Don't pick a $.50 key chain that just has room for a logo - if you need people to learn more about what your company does, that will just sit in a drawer.
  • Drawings.  Ok everyone loves a chance to win, but carefully consider your prize.  If you have a nice gift basket or even an ipad, all the drawing forms will be for those people wanting that product, not necessarily great leads for you!  Consider having your product itself as a prize and your leads will be more qualified (i.e. free massage, two hours free consulting, etc.)  Often we will offer an incentive such as a nice travel mug or flash drive if a "survey" is completed (this can be better than a drawing) and help you get exceptionally detailed information on those potential buyers.  If you email karen@adcomarketing.com I can help you come up with appropriate giveaways and drawings to match your company goals.
  • Followup.  Yikes, a thousand leads, what can you do?  We offer anything from postcards with magnets attached for mailing followup, to custom printed catalogs.  However, the best followup is the old fashioned phone. (remember before email?)  That's why limiting your leads to qualified buyers is so critical.

Adco Marketing remains the first to nationwide source for promotional products and marketing giveaways.  Whether you are looking for custom pens, padfolios, or tradeshow gifts, we are the place to start.  Our best seller category can show you quite a variety of ideas in all price ranges.  In business for over thirty years, we have an excellent track record for on time delivery, door to door customer service, and creative unique promotional product advice.

One recent example was a customer who emailed us an order for 1000 rivet key chains .  After discussion, he realized that actually he was looking for something that would stay on the desk and get a bit more logo view time.  Had we been a typical online dealier, we would have simply produced the key chains, not discussed the options, and they would have sat in the closet for years with a frustrated customer.  Because we take the time to call on each order to confirm before placing any orders, we get many more satisified customers.

Thanks so much to our wonderful staff who worked hard to get all those holiday promotional product orders in!  We look forward to serving all of you in 2012 for new marketing campaigns.  If you need ideas for your marketing gifts, feel free to email sales@adcomarketing.com

Our promotional products range from inexpensive giveaways like key chains, custom mints and jar openers to more robust offerings such as embroidered briefcases, duffle bags, and custom executive clocks.  Through the end of 2011 we are offering free personalization on our metal Leed's pens.  When looking for the perfect custom item folks often just say "give me your cheapest coffee mug".  Instead, we'll say, ok what quantity of promotional items do you need, and what would you like to portray?  Often a custom mug might not even be the answer.  Sometimes it's a combination of sticky notes, pens and custom flash drives.

Speaking of flash drives and memory sticks, these are our number one promotional product ordered after bags and mugs!  Whether you are looking at 1 gig, 2 gig, 4 gig and up, with a dome flash drive, or swivel so your customers won't lose the lid, Adco Marketing has the perfect product for you.  This is where our expertise will come in quite nicely.  For example, if you are handing the promotional flash drives directly to employees, a gift box might not be needed, but at a tradeshow, getting the nice metal gift box will keep the usb drive nice and safe as well.

Call 888-332-ADCO for promotional product ideas and current custom USB pricing anytime!

As January approaches and we all buckle down for the cold winter, the select few of us are actually ramping up for our January tradeshows and conferences.   It is likely that your tradeshow will be based in a warmer climate such as Las Vegas.  Las Vegas conference giveaways range from the traditional custom pen, custom water bottle or promotional sticky notes, to the more unique promos such as our new custom iphone covers, conference Elleven padfolios by Leeds, or even the more wild jelly fish yoyo items.

When considering your January tradeshow giveaways, remember that most likely folks are flying in for the conference.  Meaning that even though you got a great deal on a 48 pack custom cooler bag (since it's winter they are on sale), it might be a bit large to fit into their luggage going home.  Additionally, we suggest providing several tiers of promotional product giveaways.  The less costly items such as printed pens, and custom sticky cubes on the table, with the nicer items under the desk after they fill out a special form or seem like a "real" potential customer.  This might include our new custom travel mugs or maybe a nicer tote bag.

Speaking of tote bags, that is our number one selling item for Las Vegas Tradeshows, and conference giveaways.  Need something a bit nicer - maybe our promotional embroidered briefcases which start at just $7 each.  Call 888-332-ADCO for more ideas.  If you are organizing a conference we are happy to assist with getting sponsors and fitting multiple logos on our products.

Debossing and embossing are two techniques used to imprint images onto paper, leather, or vinyl. In embossing, an image is pressed into the material so that the image raises from the surface. Debossing is the opposite of embossing; the area around the image is pressed so that the image is pushed down into the material rather than raised.  Our promotional padfolios are usually debossed, because the logo won't rub off over time and our customers love the permanence of it. Our Leeds brand padfolios are some of our most popular for this method.

To emboss an image, a logo or artwork must be used as a template in order to cut a metal die and a corresponding counter-die. Dies are made of brass, copper, or magnesium. Brass dies are stronger and they will last longer with repeated use. They are used for multi-level and detailed designs, such as an imprint of a human face. Copper, though usually cheaper than brass, will not withstand as many impressions and it will not be as effective for multi-level printing. Magnesium is much weaker than brass and copper, and it is used one time for simple, single-level impressions.

Why is the deboss so much more costly for the die the first time you order?   Metal costs a bit more, but we do save it for many years so it's just a one time cost here at adco Marketing.  There are several debossing techniques. A blind deboss is used with screen-printing or foil stamping. With the screen process, the art or design is first printed onto the material and then the outline of the print is debossed using a die exactly registered to the silk screen print. . Debossing is less complicated than embossing, and when done in conjunction with silk screen printing, it results in a colorful and more detailed rendering of artwork and lettering.  So go for it for your next custom padfolio order - deboss the logo, and maybe add a colorful silk screen as well for a nice custom holiday gift.  Whether you need a junior padfolio, leather padfolio, or personalized padfolio, we hope you'll choose deboss on your next order!
