Creative Ways to Repurpose Adco Marketing Mint Tins

So, you are out of those fresh mints that help freshen your breath and now all you have left are those little metal tins. WAIT, don’t throw them away. Those tins that held your tasty mints can in be reused for a multitude of creative ideas. You can start by cleaning your tins thoroughly, with some warm water and mild soap. Once you have removed all the residue from them and make sure you dry them, you’re ready to reclaim them into little creative cool boxes.

First things first, thoughts on decorating your mint tins:

Paint, paper, or polish and with a dash of patience you can give these cool little mint tins a new creative and unique look. Listed below are several ways to customize and personalize your mint tins and give it a special exiting new appearance.

The materials you’ll need decorating your mint tins:

Paint – Acrylic paint is the best to use. Available in many colors. Acrylic paint can be purchased from any craft store (Testors paint for models), paint stores, and home improvement stores. Use a small bristle or foam brush and make sure to get the paint dry before proceeding of paint again.

Stickers – Do you remember when you were little, and you collected those funny little stickers mainly from those sticker books? If the adhesive on those stickers isn’t very strong or you have to shape your stickers around the tin, try using some hot glue on the back of the sticker to help stay in place.

Jewels, Gems and Colored Beads – Little colored beads, gems, or jewels will add a 3-d texture and a shine to your little boxes. These items can be purchased at a craft store. Also, you’ll need a hot glue gun to adhere them to your mint tins.

First Aid Kits – We all know the importance of having an emergency first aid survival kits, but we don’t carry these around with us daily. What if you’re at work and you get a cut that really won’t stop bleeding? Or your child falls and scrapes their knee at the playground and you're left your first aid kit at home? Well, now you can carry a mini kit with you always. Simply fill your decorated tin with band-aids and Neosporin (antibiotic ointment), Q-tips, dental floss, a sewing needle, pain relievers, tweezers, lip balm and some sterile gauze. You can even place some paper money, just in case you need to Uber ride to the hospital.

Jewelry Boxes – These are great when going on vacation and trying to figure out where to keep your rings, earrings, cufflinks and a necklace? Use your decorated mint tin to safely carry your precious belongings without getting lost in your carry-ons. Secure a rubber band around your tin, so it doesn’t open while traveling.

Button Boxes – Everyone has extra buttons in their home. Usually scattered or mixed with other little things. Now you can organize all those spare buttons in your awesome little personalized mint tin so the next time a button falls off your favorite shirt or blouse, now you can save time by finding the exact button (or close to it) in your tin of buttons. Just keep some thread and a few needles in as well so you’ll ready to mend anything in a dash.
